HUMN 210, Module 1 - Research and Share: Country of Choice, Discussion

During our course, you will learn about culture and cultural studies in general. You will also spend time exploring the culture of a specific country in-depth. In each module, you will study a different aspect of the culture of that country. In Module 2, for example, you will discuss the political culture/system of the country. In Module 4, you will learn more about the art of the country. Your study will conclude in Module 9 when you will create a final narrated presentation where you will reflect on what you have learned about the country's culture throughout the term.

In this assignment, you will choose the country whose culture you want to explore. The country must be one you have never visited or lived in, and it cannot be the United States. Each student must choose a different country.

Your selection must be posted in this discussion forum for instructor approval by the fourth day of the module week. This is a first-come, first-serve assignment, so please do not select a country that another classmate has already chosen.

The following information is required in your submission:

• Why you are interested in learning more about this country.
• Any previous experience reading or learning about this country.
• How learning more about this country may broaden your understanding of culture.
